Plus, the numbers themselves are visually eye-catching.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/writedirection.com\/5-reasons-numbers-in-headlines-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mike Hamers<\/a>, owner and founder of Lightspeed Commercial Arts, \u201cOur brains are attracted to numbers because they automatically organize information into a logical order\u2026 like candy for your organizational mind.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p>Statistics are effective anywhere you put them, whether in your intros, headlines or subject lines. For instance, LinkedIn ran A\/B testing on headlines with and without statistics:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p><em>Headline A: 75% of B2B buyers rely more on content to make purchasing decisions than they did a year ago.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p><em>Headline B: B2B buyers rely more on content to make purchasing decisions than ever before.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p>And they found that statistics had a big impact on click-through rates. The headline with the statistic (Headline A) had a 37% higher click-through rate and 162% more impressions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p>Statistics can also pique interest, similar to a question, enticing readers to find out more. This is where the uncommon part comes into play. If it\u2019s a statistic that the reader has heard before, there\u2019s nothing to motivate them to keep reading.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p>But if it\u2019s new or uncommon, the reader is more likely to want to learn more\u2014especially if it\u2019s relevant. Statistics also lend authority to your newsletter since you\u2019re introducing the reader to new, relevant information.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p>Take this example from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cspdailynews.com\/newsletter\/csp-kitchen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CSP Kitchen\u2019s email newsletter<\/a>:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p><em>\u201cCoffee With a Kick: 37% of Survey Respondents Add Alcohol to Coffee at Work\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p>CSP Kitchen leads with an eye-catching statistic that 37% of respondents add booze to their coffee at work. Given all we&#8217;ve shared about statistics, you can imagine how this is going to make a lot of readers want to find out more, just out of sheer curiosity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div id=\"5-lead-with-a-relevant-image\" name=\"5-lead-with-a-relevant-image\" data-animate data-destination=\"5-lead-with-a-relevant-image\" class=\"heading-wrapper\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Lead with a relevant image<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n<div data-animate-children class='p-block'>\n<p>Everyone knows the old saying, \u201ca picture\u2019s worth a thousand words.\u201d And even though it\u2019s a cliche, it\u2019s true. You can communicate so much with a relevant image, leaving you to get down to business with your intro.
